Have you ever had one of those days when you can’t do anything right?
I have… and yesterday was one of those days.
I overslept, stubbed my toe, spilled my coffee and rubbed make-up in my eye.
After arriving late to a meeting, I realized I forgot the book for that meeting on my desk at home.
Later, while driving down the road, my car began acting weird. I pulled off to the side and discovered a blown tire.
“Can I do anything right today?”
On days like this, it’s good to be reminded we are not alone on this journey.
When we feel overwhelmed, underqualified or just plain old not amazing, we need reminders of God’s grace. (Click to tweet)
Today, Holley Gerth, bestselling author, certified life coach and speaker, is releasing her new book, Do you Know You’re Already Amazing. This devotional book is filled with 30 Truths to set our hearts free.
Each chapter shares a biblical story, a practical truth and application questions to dig a little deeper into how we can apply truth to our lives.
In the chapter, “You Don’t Need to Do It All” Holley writes:
“This world will wear us out. The enemy of our souls would love to see us distracted by anything “good” that’s not God’s best. The people around us will always have expectations and demands. It’s up to us to make a different, better choice. Both Mary and Martha served Jesus. But on this day only Mary enjoyed Him.
When what we’re doing for God causes us to be “worried and upset” like Martha, then we’ve drifted away from what God wants most from us. This story isn’t really about the specific actions of these two women; it’s about the attitudes behind their choices.
Even our work can be an act of worship. That means the solution to the pressure we feel to “do it all” isn’t simply doing less. Instead it’s grasping even more how much we’re already loved. That’s what keeps our hearts at the feet of Jesus wherever we are, whatever He may ask us to do.” [Excerpt from Do You Know You’re Already Amazing by Holley Gerth]
In craziness like yesterday, we need reminders of His grace. We are loved just as we are. In all our striving to just-get-anything-right we can miss making the better choice of simply living our life as worship. Living thankful for the every day even when those days are a little on the other side of crazy.
Today, let’s choose to lean into His grace, look to Him for strength and live an amazing life knowing He already made us amazing.
Holley’s book, Do You Know You’re Already Amazing is available today. You can purchase this book by clicking on the picture below. I know you will be encouraged by reading her words and applying God’s truth to your life even on the crazy days.
Have a great day, friends!

Rachel, I hope it’s OK to say this, but I was thrilled to see your lovely smile here at Inspire Me Monday.
I’ve learned some grace from my service dogs, as my heath deteriorates and my energy dwindles…sometimes they invite me to rest, to sit with them and watch a movie, or just to doze and share their doggy-dreams (I caught a SQUIRREL today! Yuck.).
I am learning that the days that pass are not missed opportunities. They are just life, and God is storing up all the opportunities for which I may have longed so that I will find them in Heaven, and can set to work under His delighted gaze.
