Book Give-Away {One Thousand Gifts}

I’m always looking for more books and great reads to plunk down on that ever-increasing pile next to my bed.

I used to read only one book at a time.  I wouldn’t start another until I had finished the first one.  Then I discovered there’s way too many great books, genres and authors to read just one at a time!  Now, I have at least six different books going at a time and I switch around…depending on my mood!

Yesterday on my Facebook page, I asked:

What books, blogs, or studies has God used in this last year to mess up your life FOR THE GOOD?

And since I asked what others were reading, I thought I would share one of my favorites.

One Thousand Gifts by Ann Voskamp

I read this book last year and then followed up with the One Thousand Gifts DVD Group Study this summer with our ladies.

This was a life-changer for me and I share it whenever I can.  Ann has a wonderful writing style and paints pictures with her words.   She shows how to find joy in the everyday and dares us to LIVE FULLY right where we are.

Today, I’m giving away a copy of this book to one lucky winner.

To be entered for the drawing, scroll down and comment at the bottom of this blog post and tell us how you find joy in the everyday.

(Feel free to share this with others!)

Entries for the drawing will end Thursday (9/19/13) at 9 PM (EST)  – {Can’t stay up much later than that ~ I turn all woozy, itchy and crazy once 10 PM hits! }

Check back here after Friday for the winner!

And the winner drawn at 10:00 PM on Thursday is:  Mary!  Congrats and enjoy! 🙂

  1. I merely look outside at the beauty of nature and our world that we get to live in now. It is astonishing what we have been given by our creator and in the hustle and trials of our day, we can stop at any moment and look around at these great gifts. Amazing indeed!

  2. I always try to keep things in perspective and realize that sometimes the “big” things/situations that I stress over really, in the whole scope of life, are just small . . . I enjoy stopping to contemplate the wonder and amazingness (is that a word?? lol!) of God’s creation. We have so many reasons to find joy everyday . . . we just have to take a few moments out of our crazy busy lives and see them!

  3. i’ve not read this book and would like to have a chance to win..
    How i find joy in life is spending time with my love ones, especially my husband, mom, dad, sis and brother. Time is something i very much treasure.. 🙂

  4. I do two things: try to listen to the laughter of the children I work with, my own children, and the beauty of God’s nature. I also try to breath in the serenity of my children’s faces when they are sleeping – recall the miracle and blessing of their lives.

  5. I find joy every day. Every day that I wake up I have joy in that gift from God. Every day when I read my Bible I feel the Gift of the Lords work in my life. Every day I feel joy in the journey of life. I find joy in the love of family, friends, and the nature around me.
