Decorating, Eating and The Sound of Music

I’m not complaining just explaining….

This is my busiest time of year.  Instead of my life slowing down, it actually fills up.  From mid-November through Christmas each year I add to my life by working at a Christmas Tree Farm.  I decorate wreaths, centerpieces, swags and garland.  I love the job and it’s a great creative outlet for me.

This is also the first year I have tried to juggle this blog into the whole schedule thing as well.

I had planned a blog entry for each week of Advent.  I have the first week’s entry halfway done but then this week has happened and life has happened.

This morning I was going to finish it up but little Matthew kept asking me to play.

“Please, Mommy, come play with me!”

I informed my little man, “I have to blog…”  But he kept on with his pleading for me to play.

So I gave up the idea of the blog post and instead sat on the floor and played Tinker Toys and construction.

My thoughts were to finish the blog post tonight but instead…again…I’m choosing family time.

I’m leaving you all for the night so I can sit here on the couch with my family, eat dinner and watch The Sound of Music with Carrie Underwood….2 of our families favorite things.

So long, farewell, auf wiedersehen, adieu!

{I’ll catch up with the Advent posts later.}

  1. Best choice! You’ll never regret it! They just grow up way too fast. This is the season I miss most sitting on the couch and watching Christmas movies with our girls. Thanks for being one of my girl’s “pastor & friend
    ” … we appreciate you guys. — Kristi

  2. Yes, time flies by. It seems the older we get, the faster time goes and we don’t slow down. What’s with that? I’m with you on the holiday situation. Your post came at a great time! I found that maybe I’m not the only one that wants life to go a little smoother. I have so much to do and so little time.
    However, I did decide to cook a good meal for my sick hubby. I think he needed my attention more than this house. This is his 4th day being sick At least he isn’t running a fever anymore. I will treasure the time we spend together and thank God that we really are doing okay. Please pray he gets well fast..I mean REAL FAST! I need him to haul the tree in. Thanks for helping me remember that family time is priceless. We WILL SURVIVE! Fa la la la la…Tis the season my sweet Cuz! Hugs and blessings~
