It’s Friday and another week down. We’re linking up with Kate over at Five Minute Friday. She gives the word prompt. We write and share together. You’re invited to join us over here. Our word prompt today: FORGET
GO
Matt is learning to write on his own. He spells out words and constructs thoughts and sentences.
He’s also discovered post-it notes and the power of the small note stuck in strategic places.
This note sticks above my desk where I’ll see it while I work. I post it there so I won’t forget.
And any rational person will ask: “How will you ever forget that sweet note?”
Well… when we’re upset and throwing a fit… we forget.
When things aren’t going our way… we forget.
When our to-do’s and have-to’s overtake our schedule… we forget.
We forget how much we’re loved.
We work hard at getting it all done, reaching for goals and covering the bases.
And in the midst of our doing, we forget we are loved.
And maybe it’s not always that we forget… we just forget to stop and remember.
So today… remember:
Remember… you are loved with an everlasting love. (Jer. 31:3)
Remember… nothing can separate you from the love of God… neither death nor life, neither the present nor the future, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate you from the love of God. (Romans 8:38-39)
No matter what you face today, tomorrow or what hit you yesterday… you are loved.
Stick it on a post-it and put it where you won’t forget.
He loves you a lot… and don’t forget.

Happy Friday, friends!
Yes, there are times when we do forget. But then the small notes, the hugs, and the “I love you”s remind us. I enjoyed reading your contribution today to FMF.

I “love” this. The note, your post…Often I wish that a Big God voice would speak right out loud to me to remind me. Not just of His love but of how I should be “behaving” and “responding”. Holy Spirit is always there, of course, but sometimes I’m so loud that I don’t hear His quiet gentlemanly voice. Thanks Rachel…and Matt, for the reminder.

That’s so true….”I’m so loud that I don’t hear His voice.” And oh how I pray for ears to hear! 🙂 Thanks for jumping in and sharing!

My kids are starting to do the same thing. They like to write notes to their Daddy and put them in his lunch box, they think it is a fun surprise. Charlie loves them and has kept everyone of them.

Yes we are loved. We were much on the same page today. One of my fave places is my office door because it holds pics and notes to me from church kiddos. I’m over in the #12 spot this week.

A timely reminder Rachel, thank you. One of my most treasured possessions is a (badly) hand-made card given to me by my eldest (now 35) to thank me for tolerating him through his teenage years!

It IS easy to forget, and to feel that He doesn’t really ‘love’ in the way we’d expect, especially on a night like this, when pain has gone beyond intolerable to simply grotesque, and how much more can I stand?
But He didn’t bring these fell days. He’s doing His best to help me through them, by telling me…keep writing, make the pain have a purpose.
And then I remember.

What a great reminder of how much we are loved! Thank you. And thank you for sharing the verses. Jer. 31:3 is an all time favorite…..an everlasting love…how great is that! I also love Job 23:8-10. Even when we don’t see, feel or hear Him. God is there and knows exactly the path we are on. Thank you again!
